20 Second Bible Verses to Say While Washing Your Hands

Although hand-washing has always been a priority, in recent weeks, correct hand-washing has become a hot topic! It’s hard enough to get kids to use a napkin let alone lather up and scrub, scrub, scrub for 20 seconds or more. Sure, they can sing Happy Birthday a time or two but that might leave our kiddos thinking a present or piece of cake is in their near future. So how else can we get our grubby little offspring to take care when cleaning their hands?

BIBLE VERSES!

After all, James 4:8 does say, “Cleanse your hands . . .”

We’ve got a sign in our bathroom that says,

Wash your hands and say your prayers because Jesus and germs are everywhere!

Can’t think of anything more true than this right now. So, let’s turn what could be a stressful time into an opportunity to hide God’s Word in our hearts. Print out these Bible Verse Cards and place them near the sinks in your home. Say each verse slowly while you wash your hands. If you say them fast, you may need to say them twice. But that’s okay! Practice is what helps us memorize scripture!

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:17-18 ESV

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 ICB

. . . . .

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. . . Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Galatians 5:22-23 and 25 NLT

. . . . .

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
