Back-to-School Prayers and Bible Vers...

Ahhh. It’s back-to-school time. This is where the summer bliss ends and the need for routine and consistency begin. For most families, this is a time filled with new school supplies, new teachers, new activities, and lots of new commitments.

While back-to-school time is typically focused on the children, these prayers and Bible verses are for parents who are facing changes, too.

A Prayer for Renewed Trust

Whether you send your children to school or homeschool as we do, we have to continuously trust God. It’s important that we submit our hopes, fears, and everything in between to the One who saved our soul. I have come to understand my desperate need to trust Him so deeply, I created a Trust Bible Journal Bundle to help in my constant journey to trust God deeply.

Verse: Psalm 55:22 NIV

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Prayer:

Lord, Please help me to fully trust you in all that I do. I give you any anxiety, fear, or other emotion that is getting in the way of hearing your voice. I thank you that you care for me and will take my burdens as long as I trust you. Give me a renewed sense of trust in you so I can be the very best parent possible. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Divine Provision

Back-to-school time can be quite costly. And for some families, it brings the burden of spending extra finances they do not have. It’s important as parents that we are trusting God to provide all things for our family, and knowing that His divine provision is more than enough.

Verse: Philippians 4:19 NIV

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Prayer:

Lord, Today I ask for your divine provision to carry my family and I into your divine purpose for our lives. Help me rest in the fact that you are good and your provision is always right on time. Thank you for blessing our family with the resources to take care of ourselves and for the overflow to bless others. Help us to always remember the truth of your Word when circumstances tell us otherwise. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Peace

The enemy is always trying to steal our peace. And although we “know” this, somehow, someway we still seem to give in. Let’s combat this by standing strong on God’s Word and prayer!

Verse: Phillippians 4:7 NIV

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Prayer:

Lord, Thank you for the gift of your peace. Help me to focus on you so I can walk in your peace every day. Help me to guard my heart and mind with your Word so I can stay in tune with your voice and will for my life. Help me to sow peace into my family and the lives of those around me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for God’s Protection

It’s no secret that there are lots of crazy things that go on in the world around us. Being concerned for the safety of our loved ones is not only wise, it is our job as parents. Thankfully God’s Word is full of promises to protect us!

Verse: Psalm 91:7 NIV

A thousand may fall at your side,

ten thousand at your right hand,

but it will not come near you.

Prayer:

Lord, I thank you for your promise of divine protection upon my life and the life of my loved ones. Thank you for keeping my loved ones safe while at school, work, church, and in their comings and their goings. Thank you for protecting my family’s minds, hearts, and bodies from hurt, harm, or danger. Your Word is truth, and I praise you for it! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Praying and standing on God’s Word is a daily discipline that we should be cultivating in our lives. Even if you are not in the habit of praying for the above things, that’s okay; there is no better time to start than now.
